ZeroDegrees uses cookies, pixels, web beacons, tracking URLs, server log data and similar technologies (collectively referred to as cookies) to help us deliver our services and improve user experience on the ZeroDegrees Platform. Our Privacy Policy explains our principles when it comes to the collection, processing, and storage of your information. This Cookie Policy specifically explains why we use cookies, what they are, and the options you have to manage them.
Cookies are small pieces of data stored in text files that websites send to your computer or other Internet-connected devices when they are loaded on a browser. They are widely used to “remember” you and your preferences, either for a single visit (using a “session cookie” that normally expires when you close your browser) or for multiple repeat visits (through a “persistent cookie” that remains on your device after you close your browser, and can be used again the next time you access the ZeroDegrees Platform).
Cookies ensure a consistent and efficient experience for visitors, and perform essential functions such as allowing users to register and remain logged in. Cookies may be set by the ZeroDegrees platform (known as “first party cookies”), or by third parties, such as those who serve content or provide advertising or analytics services (known as “third party cookies”).
Pixels, web beacons, and tracking URLs are typically small transparent graphic images and/or small blocks of code placed on our website pages or in our HTML emails that allow us to determine whether you performed a specific action. When you access these pages or you open an email, you are letting us know you have accessed the web page or opened the email. These tools help us measure response to our communications and improve our web pages and promotions.
Pixels, web beacons, and trackers are often used in conjunction with cookies, though they are not stored on your computer in the same way. As a result, if you disable cookies, web beacons may still load, but their functionality will be restricted.
We collect many different types of information from server logs and other technologies. For example, we collect information about the device you use to access the ZeroDegrees Platform, your operating system type, browser type, domain, and other system settings, as well as the language your system uses and the country and time zone where your device is located. Our server logs also record the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet. An IP address is a unique identifier used by devices to identify and communicate with each other on the Internet.
We may use device-related information to authenticate users. For example, we may use your IP address, browser information, or other data provided by your browser or device to identify the device being used to access our platform. We may also use these device-related technologies to associate you with different devices that you may use to access our content including for fraud-protection purposes and to improve targeted advertising.
ZeroDegrees allows third parties to collect information for the business purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
Third parties may place technologies such as pixels and SDKs on the ZeroDegrees Platform which help us (i) analyse how you use our platform, for instance by noting whether you signed in with a third party service such as Google or Facebook, (ii) market and advertise ZeroDegrees services on our platform and on third party websites, (iii) prevent and detect fraud or conduct risk assessments, and (iv) collect information about your activities on our platform, other sites, and ads you may have clicked on. For example, we work with Google Analytics to help us better understand how people use the ZeroDegrees Platform.
Third parties, such as Facebook and Google, may also use tracking technologies to collect or receive information from the ZeroDegrees Platform and elsewhere and use that information to (i) serve you personalised ads they believe to be of interest to you and (ii) measure their effectiveness both on the ZeroDegrees Platform and on other websites and online services you use.
We use cookies for various purposes, including:
The information we collect using cookies may be used in a non-identifiable manner, i.e. without any association to personal information (for example, to better understand website traffic patterns and to optimize your website experience) but it may also be used to associate it with your personal information. Our business partners may also use these tracking technologies on the ZeroDegrees Platform or engage others to track your behaviour on our behalf.
Visitors may wish to restrict the use of cookies or completely prevent them from being set. Most browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser’s settings to decline cookies or to control their duration, either through browser built-in functionality or by utilizing third party plugins. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies or clear local storage this could affect the features and functionality of the ZeroDegrees Platform.
You can manage your cookie preferences on the ZeroDegrees platform by visiting our website and clicking on Cookie Settings on the banner at the bottom of any page. We will apply your preferences on the browser in which you made your choice. If you choose to decline cookies, please be aware that some features and services of the ZeroDegrees platform may not work as intended or may not work at all. For example, you will not be able to add bookings to your shopping basket, proceed to checkout, or use any other ZeroDegrees services that require you to sign in. You may also need to manually adjust some of your preferences every time you visit our platform.
With regards to third party services we use for analytics and advertising, which place their own cookies or web tags on your browser, you can manage cookie preferences directly on their websites or by installing third-party add-ons. For example, to prevent Google Analytics from using your information for analytics, you may install the Google’s opt-out browser add-on. To opt out or to customize how Google displays tailored advertising, you can visit the Google Ads Settings page. To learn more about how Google manages data acquired via advertising products, please visit their Privacy & Terms page. To opt out or to customize how Facebook collects and uses your information for targeted advertising, please update ad settings in your Facebook account. You should note that even if you opt-out of tailored advertising, you may still receive advertising content, but it will not be customised to your interests. Also, we do not control these third-party mechanisms and we are not responsible for their availability or accuracy.
