“Media” published on the ZeroDegrees Platform refers to video, audio and images, including photos, symbols and logos that are added to listings, articles, recipes, profiles and groups.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the right to publish the media you submit to the ZeroDegrees Platform and that you are abiding by all relevant marketing, intellectual property, and any other applicable laws.

By publishing Media on the ZeroDegrees Platform, you agree to comply with this policy, with our Terms of Service, and with our Content Policy, Trademark Policy, Hate Speech Policy and Disinformation and Misinformation Policy.

1. Photos

Adding images helps to better visualize content and well-optimized images may significantly increase traffic to your page. All photos published on the ZeroDegrees Platform must:

  • Be authentic, on-topic, relevant and representative of the subject matter for the listing, article, recipe, profile or group where it is being published,
  • Be in colour (not black and white) without heavy filters,
  • Be an individual photo, not a collage of several photos,
  • Be in high resolution (minimum 720 wide by 480 pixels high),
  • Be well-lit and not too dark,
  • Not be selfies,
  • Not be blurry, stretched or distorted,
  • Not have text or images (e.g. logos) overlaid on the image,
  • Not contain people unnaturally posing.

1.1. Cover Photos

The cover photo for Appointments, Activities, Events and Trips must additionally:

  • Represent the Service being offered as a whole while conveying what Customers will be doing,
  • Show the Service Provider interacting with the Customer, if applicable.

1.2. Profile Photos

The profile photo must be a clear picture of the member’s face in a way that enables identification of the member by other members, such as those on an Identity Card or Passport.

Gallery photos are only available to Members publishing listings and recipes. Gallery photos must:

  • Show a variety of details, such as interesting elements and close-up details,
  • Not be duplicates,
  • Not be too similar to one another,
  • Include at least one photo showing the location (except for recipes),
  • Include at least one photo with a person, e.g. the Service Provider or a Customer (except for recipes).

1.4. Photos with Children

If children are shown in the cover photo, they must be accompanied by an adult. If children are shown in gallery photos, the majority of the photos containing children must include a parent, teacher, or guardian accompanying them.

1.5. Optimise image file names

Normally, file names will look something along the lines of “IMG_452840.jpg”. Naming the file with words that are relevant to the image’s context will alert search engine crawlers to the subject matter of the image and help them better understand your image which will improve your SEO value. For example, if you had an image of someone hiking, the file name could be “Man-hiking-cascate-de-pontes-trails-in-geres.jpg”. Please read our SEO Guidelines for more information.

Your image file names should:

  • describe the image’s context,
  • be keyword-rich,
  • be short,
  • Include target keywords at the beginning,
  • use hyphens between words to make the file name readable by search engines (do not use underscores).

2. Video

  • Be authentic, on-topic, relevant and representative of the subject matter for the listing or recipe where it is being published,

  • Be in high resolution (minimum 720p, i.e. 1280 wide by 720 pixels high),
  • Be well-lit, using natural light whenever possible,
  • Have 16:9 aspect ratio (landscape/horizontal orientation),
  • Not have text or images overlaid on the footage,
  • Be stable (consider using a tripod or stabilizer to minimize shaky footage),
  • Be 1-2 minutes long (short videos are more likely to hold viewers’ attention),
  • Have good sound quality, if applicable (make sure any sound you use does not violate third parties’ intellectual property rights).

  • Not have sound,
  • Have a resolution of 1920px wide by 665px high and

Manipulated videos, where (i) the video has been edited or synthesised, beyond adjustments for clarity or quality, in ways that are not apparent and have a high potential to deceive, or (ii) the video is the product of deep learning (e.g. deep fakes) and contains content that has been merged, combined, replaced and/or superimposed onto the original content, generating a video that appears authentic but is not, are not allowed on the ZeroDegrees Platform.
